Alice LaVerne Vorhaben

Alice LaVerne Vorhaben, 81, of Sewickley, passed away on Wednesday, March, 3, 2021 in UPMC Passavant Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1939 in Oxnard, California, the daughter of the late Roy and Zelda McNeil.  She worked for many years as the secretary at the First United Methodist Church of New Jersey in Westfield, NJ.  She was very active in her church and enjoyed spending her time volunteering there.  She also worked as a Word Processing  Center Supervisor for AT&T.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, bird watching, and learning about history.  She also was an avid movie watcher that she loved doing with her family. In addition to her church in New Jersey, she was a member of the Ingomar United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, William S. Vorhaben; three children: Pamela Vorhaben (Scott Stiles) Gibsonia; Lisa Davidson, Moon Twp., and Keith (Marge) Vorhaben, Wakefield, Rhode Island; 6 grandchildren: Ellie, Margaret, and Anna Vorhaben and Jeremy, Heather, and Ashley Davidson. As per her request, all services are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ingomar United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh PA.
