Mark Joseph Sedelmeier

Mark Joseph Sedelmeier

Mark Joseph Sedelmeier, 69, of Moon Twp., passed away peacefully in his home on January 28, 2021.  Born in Canton, OH to Shirley (Young) Sedelmeier and the late Joseph H. Sedelmeier, Mark grew up with a meticulous nature and a desire for learning. On numerous occasions, Mark could be found taking apart broken household appliances and clocks to figure out how they worked. In his youth, Mark was a member of DeMolay International, a youth leadership organization that strived to shape young men into leaders of character. During his time with DeMolay, Mark received the Degree of Chevalier, DeMolay’s highest honor. Mark graduated from the University of Michigan and went on to pursue a career in electrical engineering. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed fishing and following the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Mark’s true passion was spending time and vacationing with his family.

Mark is survived by his mother Shirley, his wife Marcia E. (Snezak) Sedelmeier, his brother David, his sister Karen MacClaren, and his two sons Benjamin and Jacob. Mark considered the raising of his two sons to be his most challenging yet rewarding accomplishment. Mark will be remembered as a loving and caring father, a devoted husband, a beloved brother, and a kind son.

A memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Mark J. Sedelmeier.   The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. is in charge of arrangements.

Despite his supposed allergies, Mark loved his pet Collies and cats which brought him so much joy. In honor of his pets that helped make his house a home, we ask that any memorial contributions be made to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (https://humaneanimalrescue.org/donate/)
