Paul T. Birris

Paul Thomas Birris, 88, of Aliquippa passed away on Saturday February 23, 2019 in his home.  He was born on December 15, 1930 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Dr. Thomas P. and Carolyn (Fisher) Birris and a loving stepmother Nikki (Avalon) Birris.  He was a member of the Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, participating with the Senior Citizens Group.  He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.  He was employed as Plant Manager of the Hospital Linen Service Facility of Pittsburgh and was Unit Manager of the Marriot Corporation, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the National Association of Institutional Laundry Managers, where he served as President of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter for two terms.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Birris.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary (Skeriotis) Birris; a son Atty. Thomas P. Birris and his wife Dorothea, Hopewell Twp.; a daughter: Tammie Lynn Segerson, Danbury, CT; three cherished grandchildren: Talia and Ashley Birris and Damien Segerson; a sister Katherine (Thomas)  Frommeyer, Mt. Lebanon; brother Dr. Thomas (Jane) Birris, Jr., Bridgeville; numerous nieces and nephews; two god daughters: Eugenia Tribett and Sherri Shaffer; and a godson: Joseph Gaylard.

Friends will be received on Monday from 4pm until 8pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa. Where a Trisagion service will be held on Monday at 7pm.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in the Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church 2111 Davidson St. Aliquippa.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
