John Bradley Bowden

John Bradley Bowden of Hopewell Township passed from this life to the next on Wednesday December 19, 2018 in his home. He was born January 31st, 1960 in Sewickley, Pa, the son of the late George and Alice Bowden.

He was a 1978 graduate of Hopewell Area High School and the Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He also attended Geneva College where he studied Computer Science. He was employed at the Beaver Valley Power Station, by both Duquesne Light and FirstEnergy where he was the Beaver Valley Employee Concerns Representative.  He had formerly worked in Oversight and had been the Superintendent of Instrumentation and Controls, and was a System Engineer.  He was a member of Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church also a member of St. James Lodge, F&AM, and Past Master of Woodlawn Lodge, F&AM. He gave back to his community, and demonstrated his passion for education and academics, by serving on the Hopewell School Board.

He is survived by his wife of 32 Years Debra, his son Nathaniel, and his daughter Hope. He is also survived by his sister Rebecca “Becky” & Jon Barna; two sisters-in-law: Katherine (David) Imhof, and Ann (Scott) Burnett; a brother-in-law: David (Joan) Tucker; his mother-in-law: Catherine Beshenich; numerous nieces and nephews, and his life long friend, Richard Klesser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Douglas George Bowden.

Friends will be received on Friday from 3pm until 7pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa and on Saturday at 10am.  A funeral service will follow at 11am in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Neal.

Private interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church 4128 Rt. 151 Aliquippa, PA 15001.

  2. So sorry to hear about your loss. Brad (as we called him) leaves a host of accomplishments, worthy of all his talents. He will be missed, but many memories to cherish.
