Lewis G. Herdt, Jr.

Lewis G. Herdt, Jr. 86, of Conway, passed away on January 27, 2018. He was born in Rochester, PA on November 5, 1931.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Wilhelmina (Lay) Herdt; and his wife, Nancy (Myers) Herdt

Lew served in the Air Force in Korea with the 801st medical air evacuation squadron, and with the 1732 MATS EVAC. Squadron in the US.

He is retired from BASF, where he worked for 38 years in emulsion polymer sales.

His great hobbies were raising poinsettias, geraniums and vegetables in his green house. He also liked to rehab antique furniture, work with wood, hunt, fish and golf. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Korean War Veterans of America. Lewis was Methodist by faith, and attended the Ambridge Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Betsy (Bruce) Sutton; his nephew, Bruce Sutton III and his children, Breanna and Brian; his niece, Beth Ann (Paul) Diegelman, and their children, Katie and Caroline; and his niece, Pamela Brubacker and her children, Jennifer and Micheal.  He is also survived by his loving dear friend, Edith Swogger.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 &6-8 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. of Rochester (502 Adams St), where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM by Rev. Bert Domineck and Military Honors by the Beaver County Special Unit.
